Things to do in Mondovi

Enjoy ATV riding on the State Trail
Whether you're here on business, pleasure, or a special occasion, we want you to feel welcome and comfortable.  We'd like you to go home saying nice things about our hotel and our community. Mondovi has a little bit to offer everyone!

The Buffalo River State Trail passes through Mondovi and runs directly across from our hotel. This state trail is a safe and scenic place for snowmobiling, horseback riding, ATV riding, hiking and biking.  The 36.4 mile multi-use trail runs through many small towns and passes farms, woods, hills, marshland and the Buffalo River.

The Valley Golf Course
Mondovi's Valley Country Club includes an eighteen-hole golf course available to golfers of all ages. We have wonderful restaurants and many parks. Mirror Lake Park offers good fishing, canoeing and also ice fishing in the winter months. Sharp's Point, located on the opposite bank of the lake is the site of the Mondovi Veteran's Memorial. The Tourist Park is great for picnics and family gatherings. All of these parks have playground areas and picnic shelters. Joseph Peterson Arboretum is a 10-acre nature area for those who enjoy hiking.  Other local facilities include tennis courts and an outdoor swimming pool open to the public.

Historic school house at the Tourist Park
Hunting is a popular pastime for residents and visitors throughout much of the year. Along with bow and gun deer hunting seasons, many also enjoy hunting turkey and waterfowl in the area. Buffalo County is nationally recognized as trophy country for Whitetail Deer.

In January, The Mondovi-Gilmanton Snow-Blazers host a vintage snowmobile show. You can be "Irish for a day" when Mondovi celebrates St. Patrick's day with a downtown Shamrock Shuffle. Friendship Days is held during the 4th of July with a parade and fireworks, also in July, the local Midnight Riders Saddle Club hosts a Little Britches Rodeo. The Buffalo County Fair is celebrated in Mondovi the first weekend of August and has a full weekend of activities starting on Thursday afternoon.
